Autumn 2010 Mike Art

"Klebellina" is a drawing of a young woman with glasses.

"Saturn 6" is an animated gif. It is composted of 12 works of art posing as 12 frames. The Cassini spacecraft that is up by Saturn took over 1,000 photos for the raw infrared image to be composed! For those of you who don't realize that space exploration is educational and helps children develop their minds, I have one thing to say to you: Fiddlesticks!

Raw Infrared Image Credit: NASA/JPL/University of Leicester(England)/University of Arizona. Chip! Chip! LOL!

Lastly, thank you, T'Mar, for your invaluable help in manifesting my vision of "Saturn 6"!!!! My friend, the computer master!!!!!

"Roofen" is brand new, please help me welcome him to my collection of art from the Autumn of 2010!

"Eris 13" is an animated gif using a raw animated gif taken by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. You can see Eris, the 13th planet of our Solar System (counting Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, and Makemake) move, if you follow the pointer. The three astronomers who discovered Eris used the same method first perfected by Clyde Tombaugh, Pluto's beloved discoverer back in 1930. The rest of the sky is still, as is the frame, so Eris's movement is easily detected amid the tweaked Wrathellian cosmic colors.

By the way, Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris all meet the requirements of the IAU for full planethood, except one, the "clearing one's orbital path" requirement, something Earth could not do if it was in Pluto's orbit. In 2015, Pluto will very likely be deemed to be a planet once again, due to the paucity of the current definition, and the shoddy politics behind its passage in 2006.
